Deerhoof + Grünt

Deerhoof are unstoppable. Since their humble beginnings in the mid-'90s as an obscure San Francisco noise act, their ecstatic and unruly approach to music has made them one of the most influential bands of the new millennium, even being dubbed "the best band in the world" by Pitchfork and playing shows all over the world, including tours with Wilco, The Roots, Beck, The Flaming Lips, Sonic Youth and Radiohead.

Noise, vibrant melodies, happy accidents, unbridled experimentation and bittersweet vocals of Satomi Matsuzaki. Deerhoof push their own boundaries and reinvent their own sound with each new record. Miracle-Level, their nineteenth release, is significant in many ways: it is the band's first recorded in a professional studio, and it is also (and most importantly) their first album written entirely in Japanese, Matsuzaki's native language. They will present it live at the MeetFactory on Friday, 9 February 2024.

Opening the night will be Prague-based duo Grünt. Comic sans hardcore, postmodern absurdist synth punk in a two-piece band with a magic earpiece. Their live is fast and noisy with crushing bass and loud synths.
