A love of industrial hip-hop, techno, Timabaland and New Order brought together two friends from Liverpool, Thomas Gorton and James Rand, to form the musical tandem God Colony. From early recordings with Flohio, to collaborations with Mykki Blanco and Kojey Radical, an audiovisual series of short films for NTS Radio, and the founding of their own label Crack Copies, God Colony's ethos lies in „club-ready bass weight, killer vocalists and leftfield production underpinned by a core melodic songwriting sensibility.“ (— Dazed). At MeetFactory, God Colony are set to present their new live set, which premiered at Liverpool's Q U A RR Y at the end of September; and which, just like their singles from earlier this year, Tony's Garage and Who's Gonna Save Me?, brings together the best of instrumental UKG.
Alongside God Colony, emerging local project dormant state will perform a live set presenting their Distress EP (released on Sing Sing Soundsystem); blending influences of cloud rap, witch house and experimental hip hop, the record takes the listener on a sonic journey through the complexities of life, death, and the challenges in between. Producer, DJ, sound designer and one half of the progressive Prague-based label Unizone, Ancestral Vision, will close the evening with his DJ set.
