Thurston Moore Group + Seafoam Walls

Thurston Moore is the kind of musician who makes you listen deeper. In the early '80s, he co-founded one of the most distinctive bands of all time. Sonic Youth. Though they had one foot in punk rock and one in the avant-garde for their entire existence, the band managed to play shows in some of the world's biggest stadiums and rocked the music world so much that their influence still reverberates today.

Thurston's solo work underscores his ability to coax captivating melodies and catchy riffs out of a battered Jazzmaster guitar. In 2011, he moved to London, set up the Ecstatic Peace Library label, eponymous brick-and-mortar store, a music delicatessen, and formed a new band, with Sonic Youth drummer Steve Shelley, My Bloody Valentine bassist Deb Googe and This Is Not This Heat guitarist James Sedwards. He has already released several albums with this formation, and they are coming together to play the latest of them all, By The Fire, live in in Prague in spring 2023. Thurston refers to the new songs as flames of rainbow energy, where the power of love becomes our motivation. "They are love songs in a time when creativity is our dignity, our weapon against the forces of oppression."
